Leopold Van Asten began his career by participating in competitions in the pony and junior categories.
In 1993 Leopold won the Dutch Junior Championships.
Acknowledgement of his talent was the win of the Dutch Championships in 2003 with VDL Groep Think Twice and participation the following year in the European Championships in the Dutch team.
His passion and hard work led him to achieve high results in the following years, such as, to name just a few, participation in the Athens Olympics in 2004 and several World Cups.
After riding four years for Henk Nooren, Leopold started to manage the Stoeterij Duyselshof stable in 2000.
Since that year he has achieved great results. He has won the Dutch Championship 3 times: in 2003 with VDL Groep Think Twice, in 2015 with VDL Groep Zidane and in 2019 with VDL Groep Miss Untouchable.
He has participated in several Nations Cups with the Dutch team and several World Cups and 5* Grand Prix with good results.
His most important achievements are: the winning the Grand Prix of the Global Champions Tour in Valkenswaard and Estoril with VDL Groep Fleche Rouge and VDL Groep Santana respectively.
He also won the Grand Prix of La Coruña and the Indoor Brabant Rolex Grand Prix, both with VDL Groep Zidane.
