Born and raised in the Waikato region of New Zealand, Andrew Nicholson moved to England in the 1980s to develop his riding career. Now an all-round legend, Nicholson coaches the Swiss cross-country team, provides coaching and training for top riders and sells top horses.
Among his most memorable successes are those achieved at the Olympic Games:
Silver medal – second place in Barcelona 1992 in the team eventing.
Bronze medal – third place in Atlanta 1996 in the team eventing .
Bronze medal – third place in London 2012 in the team eventing .
At the World Championships, Nicholson achieved the following results:
Gold medal – first place in Stockholm 1990 in the team eventing.
Bronze medal – third place in Lexington 2010 in the team eventing.
Bronze medal – third place in Lexington in 2010 in the individual eventing.
