Martin Fuchs is a leading Swiss show jumping rider, consistently in the top tier of the FEI ranking for a few years now.

He inherited his love of horses and jumping from his family. His father represented Switzerland at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, and his uncle Markus competed in the London Olympic games in 2012. His mother, Renata, was Swiss champion in 1990.

Martin has numerous wins and medals to his name. He’s ridden in Olympic games (from competing in the Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010, taking 1st place in team jumping, to Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021), world championships (Tryon, NC 2018, coming in 2nd individually, and also part of the team that came in 4th), and European championships.

Some of the latter events saw him on the podium, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the individual gold he won at the Longines FEI European Championship in Rotterdam in 2019, confirmed again in Riesenbeck in 2021, winning team gold and individual silver.

To be mentioned then, just in order of time, the victory in the World Cup final in Leipzig in April 202, the victory in the CSI5* in Calgary Spruce Meadows with Leone Jei in 2023, and in the following year, the victory in the GP 5* in Ocala and the second place with the Swiss team in the Nations League at the same location.

Not only have Martin’s competitive wins and talent given us many thrilling memories, but he’s also an athlete who shares his emotions in touching moments, such as his farewell to Clooney 51 in Geneva.

The Martin – Clooney team has rewarded us all with unforgettable moments, and Clooney 51 has truly been a fantastic partner to the Swiss champion. Martin’s sincere, spontaneous words during his tribute to his horse gave the public insight into his immense affection, perfect understanding and unfailing regard for his showjumping partner.
