Oliver was almost born in the saddle: from the first weeks of his life he was carried on his mother’s back while she rode around the farm in Malkerns, Swaziland. Since then he rode daily and there were always horses at home; he was involved in all aspects of riding.
He won both the Natal Derby and, a few weeks later, the SOUTH AFRICAN CHILDRENS DERBY in Johannesburg in 2000 with his wonderful CA pony, WALT DISNEY KISSAMMEE. Thanks to this consistent partnership, Oliver received his SANEF South African Children’s colours in both 2000 and 2001.
He managed to defend his title as British under-16 show jumping champion STAR OF THE FUTURE, this time on his horse ADDY THE EAGLE. He followed this fantastic victory with a third place as the only South African representative in an international show for young riders against 93 competitors from various countries in Reims, France.
He now has a fantastic stable of young horses in Valkenswaard, Holland, a full calendar of competitions along with some super events and holds clinics both at home in South Africa and Australia.
