Thomas, born in Toulouse to British parents, began riding at the age of 12 and two years later participated in his first Pony Championship. He acquired French nationality after leaving school. At the age of 20, Thomas moved to England, in Wiltshire, with Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks. A year later, he returned to France and opened his own stable near Toulouse, participating in his first 3* competitions with Current Diplomat. After impactful performances in his first young horse world championship in 2009 (Popof Des Bois), he became part of the Sirocco du Gers and Tenareze team. In 2013, he gained attention by winning the national young horse championship at Pompadour. Months later, he made history by winning both the 6 and 7-year-old World Championships at Le Lions D’Angers; the 6-year-old with the AA stallion Tenareze and the 7-year-old with Sirocco du Gers.
In 2015, Thomas moved to the National Stud of Le Lions and secured second place in the 7-year-old championship with the horse Upsilon, who is now the sire of several young horses in the UK, including descendants of the Badminton-winning mare, Classic Moet. In 2015, he made his debut in the senior championship team, participating in the European Championships at Blair Castle and winning the team bronze. The following year, he was preselected for the Olympic Games but had to withdraw Sirocco du Gers from the list. In 2017, he was a member of the European team in Strzegom (Upsilon). Thomas was selected for the 2021 Olympic team (Birmane) but had to withdraw his participation in Tokyo shortly before the start of the competition.
