Costanza Laliscia tops the FEI European Endurance Championship test for Italy

Prestige athlete Costanza Laliscia (DX Endurance) took Italy to the top step of the podium at the Zigulí Test Event FEI Endurance European Championship, held on 31 August in Castiglione del Lago.

Riding Zagara di Chia, a nine-year-old Arabian thoroughbred, Laliscia once again demonstrated his talent and determination, winning the CEI3* after an intense head-to-head with strong Spanish rivals Omar Blanco Rodrigo on Fatal and Maite Pradera Ledo on Sarabi D’Abalume.

The 160-kilometre course saw the three athletes contend for the top positions until the very last, but it was the young Perugian rider who crossed the finish line first, giving Italy an important victory.

Zagara di Chia also received the Best Condition award from the veterinary commission, testifying to the horse’s exceptional state of form, and the ANICA award as the best Arabian thoroughbred born in Italy.

The event, organized by the Italian Endurance Committee, was a great success, confirming the high-level organizational capacity already recognized by the FEI. The test event was an important dress rehearsal in view of the European Equestrian Endurance Championship, to be held on 21 June 2025 at the former Eleuteri airport in Castiglione del Lago. The competitions took place in an environment that guaranteed maximum comfort and safety for all athletes, confirming the excellence of the organization and the synergy between local institutions and national and international sports federations.

With this victory, Costanza not only confirmed her status as a world-class athlete, but also highlighted her potential for future international events.
