Katrin started riding at a very young age. Her father and former coach, Otmar Eckermann, encouraged her talent in horse riding, and national and international successes followed.

In 2008, she won bronze with Carlson 46 at the Young Rider European Championships in Prague.

Two years later, still with him, she secured gold in the individual and team events at the Continental/Regional Championships in Jardy.

From 2011 to 2014, Katrin worked as a rider for Hendrik Snoek at Gut Berl, and at the end of 2014, she moved to her friend Christian Glanemann’s stable.

In that same year, she won the GP of Hamburg with Firth of Lorne.

In 2019, she won the Young Horses World Championship in Lanaken with Chao Lee.

Among her recent victories, she claimed the CSI5* in Rotterdam in 2022 with Cascadello Boy, and the Longines Global Tour stage in Miami Beach in 2023 with Cala Mandia, where the pair repeated their victory from the previous year’s event.

Also in 2023, at Riesenbeck during the GCT, she not only won two competitions on the same day but also secured the GP of Surenburg in the name of Baron Constantin Heereman, riding Chao Lee.
