Michael Cristoforetti is an Italian equestrian who grew up immersed in the equestrian world. His father, Angelo Cristofoletti, and his mother, Lorraine Simpson, are prominent figures in the Italian equestrian scene, working as instructors, technicians, and trainers. His older brother, Roberto, became the Italian Champion in 2011 and has represented Italy in numerous Nations Cups with the national team.
Michael left Italy at a young age to further his training. He spent some time at Thomas Fuchs’ stable and later moved to Schockemöhle, where he worked for four years.
In 2017, together with Jana Wargers, he founded C&W Show Jumpers Stables in Ibbenbüren, Germany. During this time, they collaborated with Enda Carroll of Ashford Farm, riding the farm’s horses and elevating them to higher competitive levels. The pair later relocated to Ashford Farm Stables in Bocholt, Belgium, where Michael manages the commercial side of the business, while Jana focuses on sports performance.
Michael Cristofoletti boasts extensive experience and knowledge in the equestrian world, both as a rider and trainer and as a commercial expert.
Among their accomplishments, Michael and Jana have been instrumental in discovering and showcasing horses of exceptional quality, including Clooney 51.
